Step Challenge on Pulse by Prudential Raises RM10,000 for the National Cancer Society of Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, 16 December 2019 – Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad (PAMB) and Prudential BSN Takaful Berhad (PruBSN) today presented a cheque of RM10,000 to the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM). The contribution comes after users on its Pulse by Prudential app completed a fitness challenge in support of cancer awareness.

Launched this year, Pulse is an all-in-one digital health app, utilising AI-powered self-help tools and real-time information, to empower its users to take control of their health and well-being anytime and anywhere. Each month, Pulse provides its users with a new fitness and wellness challenge to encourage them to lead a healthy and active lifestyle. In the most recent challenge, Malaysians were encouraged to chalk up enough steps to raise RM10,000 for cancer awareness. Cancer is one of the leading and growing causes of death worldwide, with Malaysia recording approximately 44,000 new cases in 2018. [1]

Fiona Liao, Chief Brand Officer of Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad said, “Leading an active lifestyle is known to be an effective way of reducing the risk of critical illnesses and through Pulse, Prudential is driving a step change in how Malaysians can proactively manage their health and wellbeing.  We are grateful to all Pulse users who collectively have helped us to make this contribution to NCSM, strengthening our long-standing commitment to communities and improving the lives of people”.
