In conjunction with PAMB’s sponsorship of the 29th SEA Games and 9th ASEAN Para Games, the insurer donated RM29,000 as part of its social media initiative #PRUDreamPencil Challenge.

KUALA LUMPUR, 26 July 2017 - Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad (PAMB) donated RM29,000 through its social media campaign #PRUDreamPencilChallenge. As the official insurance partner of the 29th SEA Games and 9th ASEAN Para Games otherwise known as KL2017, PAMB’s donation is to support and encourage the children of Yayasan Chow Kit (YCK) to believe in their ability to achieve their dreams.

“As the proud supporter of dreams, PAMB supports the hopes and dreams of Malaysians through providing financial freedom and peace of mind. Everybody deserves the right to dream including children regardless of their background or circumstances. That’s why we partnered with Yayasan Chow Kit and encouraged fellow Malaysians to share their dreams online to make a positive impact on the children,” said Fiona Liao, Chief Brand Officer of PAMB.

Liao added, “To commemorate the 29th SEA Games, we are donating RM29,000 and would like to thank everyone that participated for each video that was uploaded and shared helped to create more awareness about the value of dreams and the importance of having ‘dream supporters’.”

Ananti Rajasingam, Chief Operating Officer of YCK shared, “The #PRUDreamPencilChallenge allowed us to create awareness about how important it is for children to have dreams. As parents and teachers, our role is to encourage them to work hard for what they aspire and to not put limitations on their dreams. We are highly grateful to PAMB and to the public who supported this challenge. The generous contribution will be projected to our organisational costs as well as to help children and youth pursue their dreams in vocational or at tertiary level.”

The #PRUDreamPencilChallenge saw participants submitting a video of themselves balancing a pencil between their nose and upper lip and reciting their dreams. The participants then posted the video on their social media platforms and challenged two of their friends to continue the challenge. For every video generated, PAMB donated RM29 to YCK – a foundation which is driven by the simple philosophy that every child matters, and strives to ensure and protect the rights of all at-risk children and teens in the Chow Kit area by providing them with a centre that exposes the children to educational and recreational opportunities. The personalities and celebrities that participated in the challenge included Minister of Youth and Sports YB Brigadier General Khairy Jamaluddin, Founder of YCK Hartini Zainudin, National athlete Irfan Shamsuddin, TV host and radio personalities Aishah Sinclair, Baki Zainal, Daphane Iking, Hansen Lee, Naqib Shamsuri, and Prem Shanker.
