Prudential Malaysia customer

1. Malaysian citizen or Malaysian Permanent Resident and;

2. Aged 17 and above

 

Prudential Malaysia customer refers to all in force individual policies/certificate Life Assured/Covered Person including members of Group policies/certificates (e.g. MRTA/MRTT policies/certificates) underwritten by Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad or Prudential BSN Takaful Berhad except Group Employer Employee Benefit policies/certificates.

*From 1 May 2020 to 31 December 2020 or until the exhaustion of RM1,000,000 (for Prudential customers) and RM300,000 (for registered Pulse by Prudential users only), whichever is earlier.
*No benefit is payable if the diagnosis of COVID-19 is before the risk commencement date or reinstatement date, whichever is later. Eligible Pulse by Prudential users must register prior to diagnosis and hospitalisation.
*Only 1 claim can be made either from Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad or Prudential BSN Takaful Berhad.
*Claims must be submitted within 3 months from event date (upon diagnosis/hospitalisation or death). Otherwise the claimant is not eligible for the benefits.

1. How much does this special coverage cost? There is no additional cost for this special coverage. 
2. How do I sign up for this special coverage?

For Prudential Malaysia customer, you are automatically enrolled for this special coverage. However, in order to enjoy the additional payout, you will need to register in Pulse by Prudential Malaysia on or before 30 June 2020.

For Life Assured/Covered Person aged below 18, Assured/Participant/Parents/legal guardian would need to register in Pulse by Prudential Malaysia based on their own information on or before 30 June 2020, in order to enjoy additional payout for Life Assured/Covered Person.

For non-Prudential Malaysia customer, you will need to register in Pulse by Prudential Malaysia on or before 30 June 2020, in order to enjoy this special coverage.

3. Do I need to prove that Life Assured/Covered Person is a registered user of Pulse by Prudential Malaysia when I submit the claim? No. You may refer to Q8 & Q9 for claims related documents.
4. The Life Assured/Covered Person is a registered user of Pulse by Prudential Hong Kong or any other Prudential affiliate of companies other than Malaysia. Is the Life Assured/Covered Person eligible for the additional coverage? No. Only registered user of Pulse by Prudential Malaysia is entitled for the benefits of this Special Coverage.
5. Can Life Assured/Covered Person seek treatment for COVID-19 at any hospitals? The Ministry of Health Malaysia has designated a number of referral hospitals nationwide in handling patients with COVID-19. You may refer to http://www.moh.gov.my/index.php/pages/view/2019-ncov-wuhan-guidelines. This list is accurate at time of publication.
6. Will other benefits (e.g. Hospital Benefit/Hospitalisation Allowance/Hospital & Surgical) be payable in accordance to existing policy/certificate? All existing benefits are payable in accordance with the policy/certificate terms and conditions. The COVID-19 Special Coverage does not impact the existing policy benefits.
7. How do I submit claim for COVID-19 Cash Relief?

For Prudential Malaysia Customer:

You can submit the supporting documents as below via email to customer.mys@prudential.com.my or customer@prubsn.com.my or submit them to your agent for the agent’s submission via PRUserve Plus (PSP):

  1. Completed medical claim form (for non-PSP submission) and application for direct credit/e-credit details.
  2. Medical report/discharge summary/doctor’s statement with complete diagnosis and treatment plan; and
  3. Investigation and/or laboratory report with COVID-19 confirmatory test result i.e. nasal/throat swab or other tests as advised by MOH.

Note: The claimant must submit the Claim Form to Prudential within 3 months from diagnosed date. Otherwise, the claims will not be eligible for the benefits.

For non-Prudential Malaysia customer:

You can submit the supporting documents as below via email to customer.mys@prudential.com.my:

  1. Completed medical claim form and application for direct credit/e-credit details.
  2. Medical report/discharge summary/doctor’s statement with complete diagnosis and treatment plan; and
  3. Investigation and/or laboratory report with COVID-19 confirmatory test result i.e. nasal/throat swab or other tests as advised by MOH.

8. How do I submit claim for COVID-19 Death Benefit?

You can submit the supporting documents as below via email to customer.mys@prudential.com.my or customer@prubsn.com.my or submit them to your agent for the agent’s submission via PRUserve Plus (PSP):

  1. Death claim form completed by nominee(s) or claimant(s) and application for direct credit/ e-credit details.
  2. Snapshot of original death certificate (in colour);
  3. Medical Attendance Certificate from last attending doctor;
  4. Copy of the deceased’s NRIC (both sides);
  5. Copy of nominee(s) or claimant(s) NRIC (both sides);
  6. Copy of proof of relationship between nominee(s) or claimant(s) and deceased;and
  7. Evidence of deceased being diagnosed with COVID-19, leading to death (e.g. attending doctor statement, post mortem report, COVID-19 confirmatory test result - nasal/throat swab or others, as advised by MOH).

Notes:

  1. For credit related policies/certificate, the death benefit will be payable to the claimant (next of kin) instead of Bank.
  2. The claimant must submit the Claim Form to Prudential within 3 months from date of death. Otherwise, the claims will not be eligible for the benefits.
9. How do I submit Hospitalisation/Pre & Post Hospitalisation/Hospitalisation Benefit/Allowance claims for COVID-19?

In accordance with the below checklist requirement, please submit through customer service e-mail or get your agent to submit in PSP: 

  1. Completed medical claim form (for non-PSP submission) and application for direct credit/e-credits details.
  2. Medical report/ discharge summary/doctor’s statement with complete diagnosis and treatment plan.
  3. Investigation/lab report (COVID-19 confirmatory test result - nasal/throat swab, or others as advice by MOH).
  4. Original itemised bills.
  5. Original receipts
10. Is there any exclusion or waiting period imposed? No exclusion or waiting period is imposed for this Special Coverage. However, to be eligible for additional payout benefit for a registered user of Pulse by Prudential Malaysia, the date of diagnosis and death must be after the Life Assured/Covered Person has registered in Pulse by Prudential Malaysia.
11. If I have an existing medical claim, am I still entitled to the Special Coverage? Yes, you’ll be entitled to the Special Coverage even though you have an existing medical claim. 
12. I’m tested with positive with COVID-19, but I’m not required to be hospitalised, am I eligible for COVID-19 Cash Relief? No. You can only be eligible for this Special Coverage, if you are diagnosed positive with COVID-19 and hospitalised in a hospital designated by Ministry of Health Malaysia.
13. I’m tested with positive with COVID-19 and hospitalised in a hospital but it is not a hospital designated by Ministry of Health Malaysia for COVID-19, am I eligible for COVID-19 Cash Relief? No. You can only be eligible for this Special Coverage, if you are diagnosed positive with COVID-19 and hospitalised in a hospital designated by Ministry of Health Malaysia.
14. I’m hospitalised to undergo COVID-19 test, but I have not been diagnosed positive with COVID-19, am I eligible for COVID-19 Cash Relief? No. You can only be eligible for this Special Coverage, if you are diagnosed positive with COVID-19 and hospitalised in a hospital designated by Ministry of Health Malaysia.
15. If I’m hospitalised due to positive diagnosis of COVID-19 and later I pass away due to COVID-19, what is amount payable under this Special Coverage? We will pay RM1,000 for COVID-19 Cash Relief and RM10,000 for COVID-19 Death Benefit. We will pay double of this amount, if the eligible Life Assured/ Covered Person is a registered user of Pulse by Prudential Malaysia.
16. To be eligible for the additional amount, can I register for Pulse by Prudential Malaysia right before I submit the claim? No. To be eligible for the additional amount, the event date (date of diagnosis or date of death) must be after the Life Assured/Covered Person has registered in Pulse by Prudential Malaysia before 30 June 2020.
17. I am covered under one policy from Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad and another two certificates under Prudential BSN Takaful Berhad. Am I eligible for Special Coverage under each of these three policies and certificates? No. This Special Coverage is only given to cover you once. You can claim either from PAMB or PruBSN.
18. Will a claim under this Special Coverage use up my coverage annual/lifetime limit? The payout of this COVID-19 Special Coverage will not use up your annual/lifetime limit. However, if you are also entitled to claim under existing medical rider(s), annual/lifetime limit will be deducted accordingly.
19. What if my diagnosis date was between 1 February 2020 and 30 April 2020, am I eligible for this Special Coverage? No. However, you are eligible for the previous Covid-19 special coverage that we provide for eligibility period between 1 February 2020 and 30 April 2020, if you submit your claim before 31 July 2020.
20. How long will it take to process the Special Coverage claims? Upon receiving the complete documents, the claim payment will be processed within 14 working days. We will be offering Fast Track processing for submission via PSP.
21. We will be offering Fast Track processing for submission via PruServe Plus. Who do I contact for further clarification?
